Class Summary

Ms Anis briefed to us about our week 4 assignment, illustrated type. We were told to choose two words to design. And next, Mr Hafiz let us watch a video about the tutorial of Pencil Tool and Shaper Tool.

1. Pencil Tool practice

After watching the video, we use pencil tool to do the practice. It helps to let us be more familiar with the tools. By using pencil tool and shaper tool, I can draw out the shapes or change the outline stroke of the letters into my preference. So I can use the pencil tool during designing my illustrated type.

2. Illustrated type
Tool: Pencil Tool, Shaper Tool, Width Tool

For the class today our task is to choose two words and turn them into illustrated type. I have a research on what is illustrated type, and I have learn that the type is customized with illustrations or decorative elements that add visual interest and uniqueness to the design. Illustrated type can be created using various techniques, including hand-drawn illustrations, digital illustrations, or a combination of both. It is often used in branding, advertising, book covers, posters, and other graphic design applications where a distinctive and eye-catching typographic treatment is desired.

For the progression of the words I have used Pencil Tool to change the stroke of the letters and make them look like my sketch. I have use pencil tool to connect the letters together in the design of the word palace.
