Compositing Layers in Photoshop
  • Basically Photoshop is a platform to compositing the layers. All the layers need to be arrange and rename accordingly so that it will be organize and easy to be animated in After Effects.
  • Adobe After Effects is a digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application. Basically we can import elements such as images, video, vector and more into After Effects. All the layer elements need to be organized and synchronized to the external software platforms such as Photoshop & Illustrator. After Effects files does not embed its media, it links to it.

INSTRUCTIONS

WEEK 10 Practical
During the practical session, we explored the animation function in Adobe Photoshop. One of the methods we learned was animation by layers. This technique involved utilizing keyframes to create a seamless transition from one frame to another, resulting in a smooth warp effect. By applying this approach, we were able to imbue our animations with a dream-like quality, adding a touch of enchantment and fluidity to the visual experience.

Another method of animation in Photoshop is through the use of animation by frames. This approach involves the traditional animation technique, wherein each frame is carefully crafted to ensure a smooth and coherent animation sequence. By diligently aligning and synchronizing the frames, we can create captivating and fluid animations.

Furthermore, we explored the Puppet Warp function, which allows us to manipulate images by placing pin points strategically. This feature enables us to distort and transform elements within an image, adding a dynamic and flexible dimension to our designs. By leveraging the Puppet Warp function, we have the ability to create visually engaging and imaginative compositions.
