WEEK 1
In the first week of Digital Photography and Imaging lecture we were briefed about our module information and told us about the importance of Photoshop and some quick tips to understand more about Photoshop. Next, Mr Martin brief about what we will learn in this semester and how we will be guided by him to done our assignments.

PRACTICAL
WEEK 1
We were assigned to do the following tasks below in Week 1 and start
our Project 1 – Physical Collage Design.
TASKS
1. Bézier game https://bezier.method.ac/
Mr Martin let us to try on a game call bezier game, it is a game that
teach us how to master the pen tool. We spend about 15 minutes to
solve the quiz and i got 25 nodes left.

2. E-portfolio and Pinterest Board Set Up
We are assigned to set up our E-portfolio on Blogger to post our
blog and register our account on Pinterest.
3. Choose 3 Favourite Graphic Design Artworks
We are assigned to discover 3 graphic design artworks that we like
the most on Pinterest
Here are my 3 favourite graphic design artwork:

This art attracted me because it presents the day and night in
the city by using a rectangular shape and a few colors. It is
difficult to express the art by using just one shape, but this art
used the colors and shape and separated it into a half city which
one is full of brightness and the other full of darkness. The
details in this art such as the color of the windows light is also
why it fascinates me. It is essential for me to keep an eye on
such paintings that are easy but hard to draw well.

In this drawing I saw some meanings in it, that is water pollution
not just harms us but also will harm our marine organism. The artist
draws plastics as the body of the whale means that nowadays the
ocean is full of plastic which is made by humans. The artist tries
to use this drawing to arouse humans that understand this drawing to
rethink and make some actions on less pollution to our Earth. The
fantastic point of this drawing is that it is meaningful and its
expresses emotion to others.

The main point in this art is a lady sitting alone inside the weird
plants and the color of the plants is grey and the color grey
presents gloomy. But in the paint of the lady presents bright orange
it means that in the eye of the lady the world is bright and warm.
In my thoughts is that the way we see the world is more important
than how the world presents us. This drawing attracted me the most
is the difference of colors and the sketches of the drawing.
PROJECT 1: Collage Design
Physical Collage
I decided to choose a gaming theme for my physical collage
design. I bought some magazines which is full of bright colour.
I also choose a darker background to refer my design.

I have done three different options for the collage. The first
layout I use a girl with horns as my main subject. The theme
colour I use for the first option is purple, I cut out some
purple lines and place it on the girl to make the collage to
be more flow and motions.

The second option of the collage I use different materials and
put them together and I think it is special but it is too simple
and lack of attractive point.

The third collage I use a big V letter to express the word
'vision' and the main idea is when others look at the V you can
follow to the word ' game to the vision'. Mr Martin choose the
third option and he suggest me to make it more interesting as it
is lack of materials in it.

After the feedback from Mr Martin, I try to make the
background more crowded by using different colour and
different materials. I also mix some of the materials that I
use in the other design of the collage and it turns out to be
more interesting. It looks more like exploding and more
motions compare to the first attempt.
WEEK 2
TASKS : Digital Imaging Exercise 1
Through this exercise I have learn how to use
1. Quick Selection Tool
2. Layer Mask
3. Filter
4. Color Correction

Through this exercise I have know more about how to combine
two different pictures together. The tips is that using plain
background it is easier to crop the picture out using quick
selection tool. And to make myself more real in the heart
mansion, the most important thing is to add a shadow using
brush tool and use gaussian blur.

Through this exercise I have know more about how to combine

REFLECTION
I feel really interesting while learning different skills through digital
photography image class. Photoshop have lots of skills that I never use
before and through this class I learn to use use different tools in
Photoshop such as quick selection tool, pen tool, layer mask, etc. At first
I am really confuse as my basic in Photoshop is not as good as others, but
through this few week of classes, I have improve my skills and can use this
skills in different situation. Mr Matin is really patient while teaching us
in class, he help us to solve our problems with a easy way and it is easier
to catch up the class. I have learn a lot through this few weeks.
