  3. Online posts in your E-portfolio as your reflective studies(Please attach the E-Portfolio link here for submission.)
#Progress
In Week 1, we were briefed about the Flip Presentation, which is the Final Project for our Information Design class. This project was assigned to groups of 6-10 members. After forming our group, we quickly discussed possible topics. After several discussions, we all agreed that "What is the Science Behind Luck" would be an interesting topic to explore.

Teammate:
  1. Low J-Yin
  2. Wong Kai Xin
  3. Tan Zhao Yi
  4. Low Li Vern
  5. Kong Cai Yi
  6. Kelly Lau
  7. Lim Jun Teng

After getting feedback from Mr. Fauzi, he agreed that our topic was interesting to work on. So, we developed it further and started working on the presentation slides for Week 6. Each group member took on different parts of the presentation to divide the workload efficiently.

#Script and Storyboard
Jun Teng, Kai Xin, and Zhao Yi were responsible for writing the script for the video narration. To make the storytelling more engaging and relatable, we also created a main character named Twinkle to guide the audience through the topic.

#Art Direction
We discussed that for the illustration style, we wanted it to look cute and playful. After researching references online, we found that the game "Dumb Ways to Die" had a style that suited our theme well.

#Color Scheme
  1. Soft Pink: Playfulness and gentleness
  2. Cream: Warmth, simplicity, elegance, and minimalism
  3. Muted Purple: Creativity, mystery
  4. Warm Yellow: Optimism, happiness, energy, and warmth
  5. Light Blue: Freshness, trust, and clarity

We selected Soft Pink, Cream, Muted Purple, Warm Yellow, and Light Blue as our color scheme because they match the playful and engaging style of our topic. For the background, we mainly used pink and light blue to maintain a visually appealing and cohesive look.

#Illustration
I am responsible for the animation part, while the other team members selected the scenes they wanted to illustrate. After completing their illustrations, they uploaded the Adobe Illustrator files to Google Drive for me to access and animate.

#After Effect Animation Progress
First, I checked the layers of each scene in the Adobe Illustrator file, arranging them properly to make animation easier in After Effects. To divide the workload, Kelly and I each took half of the scenes to animate.

After that, I moved on to Adobe After Effects, first ensuring smooth scene transitions. Since our topic focuses on information, we used simple animations to avoid distracting viewers while keeping the visuals engaging and easy to follow. The goal was to make the animation clean, smooth, and visually appealing without overpowering the content.

I was responsible for animating scenes 1-12. I decided to create separate After Effects files for each scene since some scenes were animated by other teammates. This prevented any keyframe conflicts and ensured a smoother workflow. After exporting the animations as videos, we could easily edit and compile them in Premiere Pro.

I extended the duration of the scenes at the beginning and end to make it easier to edit and transition smoothly when combining the videos in Premiere Pro.

#Final Animation Outcome

REFLECTIONS
One of the key challenges in this project was ensuring smooth collaboration between team members, especially when working remotely. Dividing tasks efficiently and keeping track of progress through online meetings helped us stay organized. Another challenge was balancing visual appeal with informational clarity. Since this was an infographic video, we had to ensure that animations enhanced understanding rather than distracting the audience.  I have learn that effective communication and task delegation were crucial for completing the project on time. Using Google Drive for file sharing and regular check-ins helped streamline our workflow. Some animation tasks took longer than expected, which made final editing a bit rushed, I will try to improve the time management in future projects. Overall, this project was a great experience, and also seeing the final animation come together was extremely rewarding.
