Rationale :
This artwork follows design principles like the golden ratio and rules of thirds to create a pleasing layout. It guides the viewer's attention with a clear hierarchy of elements. Movement is added through bubbles and the mermaid's flowing tail. By mixing cyberpunk elements with marine life, the piece prompts us to think about how technology impacts our environment. The use of metal armor and see-through tails adds a futuristic vibe while reminding us of the need to protect our oceans. It's a reminder of the delicate balance between nature and technology and urges us to take care of our underwater world. Through the details of the artwork such as using everyday items like forks and spoons to represent coral, while the mermaid wears metal armor for protection. It encourages us to think about pollution and its impact on nature. The inclusion of futuristic elements, such as transparent tails and machine-like jellyfish heads, highlights how unchecked technology can harm marine habitats in future.
REFLECTIONS
Through this module, I've gained invaluable insights into
utilizing design principles to enhance the layout of my artwork.
Prior to engaging with this module, my artwork layouts were
lackluster, with simplistic designs resulting in overall poor
visual impact. I've found immense satisfaction in the process of
brainstorming ideas for my artwork, allowing me to delve deeper
into the creative process. Additionally, I've particularly
enjoyed the collaborative aspect of sketching my concepts and
seeking guidance from Mr. Charles, whose input consistently
sparks inspiration and enriches my brainstorming sessions.
However, I've encountered challenges when it comes to selecting
suitable colors for my artwork, a task that I've struggled with.
Reflecting on my learning journey, I've come to realize the
extent of my shortcomings in layout design prior to grasping
design principles. Moving forward, I recognize the need to
dedicate more attention to implementing these principles to
improve the overall quality of my artwork layouts.
Throughout this process, there has been a notable transformation
in my ability to effectively translate my sketches into visually
captivating compositions, thereby engaging viewers more
effectively. Nonetheless, my proficiency in color selection
remains an area requiring further refinement. This aspect of my
learning journey underscores the ongoing need for improvement
and development in my artistic skills.
