REFLECTIONS

Experience

Participating in the shooting and editing video project was an insightful and rewarding experience. The practical application of video production techniques allowed me to grasp the nuances of capturing compelling visuals and creating a cohesive narrative during the editing process. Being selected as the Director of Photography (DOP) offered a hands-on experience that granted me valuable insights into the technical intricacies of shooting. This included aspects such as framing, lighting, and composition. The guidance provided by the instructor, along with feedback received during the shooting phase, played a pivotal role in honing my skills and cultivating a more discerning eye for detail.

Observations

The editing process allowed me to translate the raw footage into a meaningful and engaging story. Learning how to use editing software efficiently and creatively was particularly beneficial. The feedback received during the editing phase played a crucial role in understanding pacing, sequencing, and the overall flow of the video.

Findings

The shooting and editing video project was an invaluable opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. The skills acquired, coupled with the challenges overcome, have significantly contributed to my growth as a videographer, and I look forward to applying these learnings in future video endeavors.
